Madison Nursing Home Fined: Report

The state Department of Public Health issued the citations and fines.

MADISON, CT - The Madison House nursing home has been fined several thousands of dollars by the state Department of Public Health for a few incidents at the facility, reports Kate Farrish of the Connecticut Health I-Team.

Madison House at 34 Wildwood Avenue was fined $3,640 for two incidents in February and March, including one where a new medication order wasn’t properly entered into the computer resulting in the wrong medication being given to a resident, Farrish reports.

Also in August, 2015, a nurse’s aide verbally abused a resident, and a nurse didn’t report the incident, Farrish reports. The aide has since been fired. Madison House officials say they immediately took action.
