One is a circa-1764 Cape on 7 acres with three original fireplaces, a guest cottage and a post-and-beam barn its listing suggests for studio space. The other is a circa-1752 homestead on Mungertown Road, which its listing calls the former Helen Foster Snow homestead.
Two Madison homes are holding open houses Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, with prices from $849,000 to $1,149,000, according to Zillow.com.

A sunroom with a stone floor and a kitchen with cathedral ceilings complete the main house. The grounds include stone walls, a renovated year-round one-bedroom guest cottage and a 26-by-36-foot post-and-beam barn with a loft, which the listing says could hold cars, animals or studio space. Zillow counts the property as a four-bedroom, three-bath home with 2,792 square feet, including the cottage.

The listing describes this circa-1752 house as the former Helen Foster Snow homestead and says its current owner, the builder behind East Guilford Construction, has maintained and improved it. It highlights a pond, rebuilt chimneys and fireplaces, and a private setting on 1.5 acres with barn parking. It's a four-bedroom, four-bath home with 2,354 square feet. Its price was cut by $51,000 on Oct. 1.
