Madison Parents Urged to Attend Educational Documentary
The event is free and there will be a question and answer period with officials concerning the future of education and some new methods.

nThe Madison Public Schools, in conjunction with The Country School, is pleased to join the national conversation about the future of education during a screening of the acclaimed documentary Most Likely to Succeed, according to a prepared statement released by the public school system.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on February 4, 2016 at 6:15 p.m. in The Country School’s DeFrancis Gymnasium. Space is limited, so attendees are asked to pre-register at www.thecountryschool.org.
A question and answer session and discussion with education leaders will take place following the screening.

Superintendent of Schools Thomas Scarice will be serving on a panel along with Douglas Lyons, Executive Director of the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools, and Laura Pappano, an award-winning journalist whose work often focuses on education.
Most Likely to Succeed examines the history of education in the United States and explores the shortcomings of the current system, which was designed in 1893 for a very different world.

The film explores new approaches that aim to revolutionize teaching and prepare students to thrive and be innovators in the 21st century.
Since it debuted at the Sundance Film Festival last January, Most Likely to Succeed has been shown at venues across the country. In Connecticut, other schools hosting screenings have included Yale and Choate Rosemary Hall.
Most Likely to Succeed has received rave reviews from educators, film critics, and journalists.
