Madison Police Investigate Downtown Center Thievery As Construction Continues

While construction continues to run a smooth course, police are looking into possible stolen materials.

MADISON, CT - While construction on the Downtown Center Project may be moving along on time and on budget, there has been at least one road bump along a relatively smooth road.

Police are investigating materials being stolen from the construction site, the Madison Source reported. Economic Development Commission Chair Ryan Duques told the Source that both granite and a flagpole mount are currently missing from the worksite and may have been stolen.

The granite was part of a building being prepped for installing a brick sidewalk that was ultimately not used, while the mount was missing from one of the newly installed light poles, according to the Madison Source.
