The new K-9 officer joined the force a couple of weeks ago.

MADISON, CT — Madison's new police canine Decker definitely has some big paws to fill. Decker is replacing K-9 Gwen who retired last month, reports the Madison Source.

Decker, a yellow Labrador retriever, is trained as a narcotics dog and is partnered with Officer Cara Hewes. Decker began his new job two weeks ago, the Source reports.

Decker will undergo some specific training in June and July. Decker now joins Paco, a K-9 patrol dog that is already on the job in Madison. Madison residents have generously helped fundraiser to support the K-9 program, police officials said.
