Madison Resident Named a 'New Leader in the Law'

New Haven based law firm Wiggin and Dana is pleased to announce that Madison resident Joe Merschman, a Partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, was named a “New Leader in the Law” for 2015 by the Connecticut Law Tribune, according to a prepared statement.

This honor is presented annually to lawyers under the age of 40 whose achievements in the legal profession have distinguished them from their peers.

Attorney Merschman represents companies and individuals in a broad range of litigation, including contract claims, construction disputes, and securities litigation, among others.

He serves on the Executive Committee of the New Haven County Bar Association and is a member of the New Haven Inn of Court. He also is a member of the American Bar Association’s Commercial & Business Litigation Committee, where he Co-Chairs the Securities Litigation Subcommittee.

James Glasser, Chair of Wiggin and Dana’s Litigation Department, commented in a prepared statement that “Joe is an accomplished and distinguished litigator, whose commitment to excellence, loyalty to his clients, and personal involvement in professional organizations make him deserving of this award. We are proud to have him recognized by the Connecticut Law Tribune.”

The honorees were chosen by a panel of five judges from the legal community based on categories including contributions to the law, bar association efforts, pro bono work and peer recognition.
