Madison Residents to Decide Whether to Pay Ex-Police Lieutenant $110,000

A meeting will be held on Nov. 10 where the public will decide whether the settlement will be paid.

A town meeting will be held on Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. at the Madison Town Campus where town residents will decide whether to pay ex-police lieutenant Robert Stimpson $110,000, Jack Kramer reports from The Source.

Stimpson, who served on the Madison police force for 33 years and retired in Nov. 2012 is seeking the money under the state’s heart and hypertension law.

Although the law was repealed by the state a decade ago, employees who worked before the law was repealed can still have their claims paid, the paper reports.
