Madison Resident's Gubernatorial Campaign Raising Cash Quickly

The local man has the second most amount of money available to spend currently.

MADISON, CT — Madison resident Bob Stefanowski, Republican candidate for governor of Connecticut, announced last Friday a strong and diverse set of donors and supporters.

“With $64,000 raised in two weeks and a growing base of supporters signing up online, my campaign is gaining momentum that I hope to ride to Election Day 2018,” Stefanowski said in a prepared statement sent to Madison Patch.

“I’m very excited to see the initial response to my campaign. People want a change in Connecticut and are eager to rally behind a business leader who they believe can put the state back on course,” Stefanowski said.

“I have worked hard to achieve business success,” he said. “I’m now at a time in my life where I can use my skills and experience to help the state escape its crippling financial problems.” Stefanowski said.

Stefanowski, recently a top executive for Fortune 500 companies and an "expert in finance and turnaround management," is motivated to lead an economic renaissance of the state of Connecticut.

“I am off to a strong start, showing the second most cash-on-hand of any gubernatorial candidate. The campaign is reaching tens of thousands of voters on Facebook each week, with over 50,000 already viewing my campaign launch video,” Stefanowski said.

Stefanowski’s fiscal conservatism extends beyond his stands on public policy. For example, he has pledged to not participate in the Connecticut taxpayer-funded Citizens Elections Program.

In addition to early contributions from supporters, he has donated $250,000 of his own money to jumpstart the campaign.

Campaign staff are already at work in Stefanowski’s new Route 1 headquarters in Branford. He is planning events across the state, starting with rolling out an economic blueprint for Connecticut next month.

“Politics was not in my master plan,” he continued. “But I can’t stand on the sideline while so many talented people give up on our state. I am committed to getting us back on a path of growth and prosperity,” Stefanowski concluded.

Bob Stefanowski, 55, holds an MBA from Cornell University and earned his undergraduate degree from Fairfield University.

Over his 30 year career, Bob held senior positions at General Electric, then led UBS Investment bank as its chief financial officer. A published author, Bob is currently a Visiting Professor in Management Practice at Oxford University in London, UK and a frequent lecturer on leadership and corporate strategy at Yale’s School of Management in New Haven.
