Madison Schools Closed Due To Power Outages

School officials said:

Madison Public Schools will be closed today due to downed power lines on campus and across town, as well as numerous closed roads.

At 11:30 pm last night I was informed of downed trees blocking a number of roads. At this point, a number of main roads are closed and would prevent bus travel. Additionally a main power line is down in the Polson Middle School driveway. We have been advised to keep our children away from bus stops due to the number of down, and possibly unknown, power lines, fallen trees and debris. Currently, over 3,000 residents are without power. We anticipate reports of additional lines down and transportation issues as they are discovered in the early morning hours.
