Madison Schools Forum to Update Residents on Possible Future School Changes

Declining school enrollment has led school officials to consider possible changes including closing a school in the future.

The Madison Board of Education invites you to participate in a community forum as part of a Comprehensive Assessment of the Madison Public Schools, according to a release from the school system.

The forum will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in the Ryerson Elementary School multi-purpose room from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Madison Board of Education selected Drummey Rosane Anderson, Inc. (“DRA”) to develop a Feasibility Study and Schematic Plans. Building on the study that started in December, 2014, this forum will bring you up to date on the results thus far, and the most promising options will be considered in more detail.

Opportunities for questions and discussion will be a central feature of the night. Discussions will be facilitated by the study architect, DRA.

The evening will begin with a school tour from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. hosted by Ryerson Elementary Grade 4 students. Beginning at 7:00 p.m., Drummey Rosane Anderson, Inc. will commence their presentation.
