MADISON, CT — Longtime Madison Source reporter Zoe Roos has been hired to a newly-created Communication Specialist position.

"Zoe Roos has started and has already been assigned a number of priorities. Expectations include a story per week, per school to report to the public, as well as Board happenings, security initiatives, the budget, seasonal information, graduation, K-5 report cards, etc. The Facebook page will very active as well and will link to the district website," according to Madison school officials.

Madison school officials say "During the 2019-2020 school year, you will notice a marked increase in the volume of communications from the school district. In an effort to share the great work in our classrooms, the achievements of our students and staff, and all other newsworthy events from our schools, we have created structures that will enable a continuous flow of stories and updates from each of our schools and the entire school district. These stories and updates will post to our website, and they will all link to our social media, with the expectation of pushing out valuable information to our school community on a regular basis. In addition, we will also begin the use of a district app (Finalsite) that will allow for easy user interface on all mobile device. This will provide yet one more communication tool that users can customize to fit their communication needs.

Along with that information, we have developed brief, but important, public service announcement reminding drivers of the laws related to a stopped bus picking up children. Additionally, in the next couple of weeks we will be sharing information related to safety and security enhancements for the 2019-2020 school year, and how our district vision for 21st Century education drives the work our students do in our classrooms, and how we monitor their learning."
