Madison Schools Leader Says School System Monitors Ebola Concerns

The Madison Public Schools works closely with its Health Department.

October 16, 2014

Dear Friends:

You may be aware that on Thursday morning, October 16, Yale-New Haven Hospital announced that it is treating a patient for Ebola-like symptoms (EVD). The hospital is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the State Department of Public Health to have the patient tested for the virus. Results should be available tomorrow. It is our understanding that this patient, a Yale researcher, recently returned from Liberia and had been voluntarily sequestered. Apparently, the patient developed a fever last night and was admitted to Yale in accordance with the hospital’s protocols.
