Madison Schools to Offer More Options Through New School Lunch Program

Students will find more options in selection and portion when they return to school in September.

MADISON, CT – A new school lunch program will be coming to Madison schools this academic year, The Source reported.

The Board of Education voted to leave the National School Lunch Program and State of Connecticut Healthy Foods Certification in June, according to The Source. Now students will find more options when they return to school on Sept. 6.

While company Chartwells will still be in charge, they will have more options when it comes to portions and selections, according to The Source. The schools are also going to try and reduce waste through a number of methods.
