Madison Sets 2026-27 Budget Referendum Date And Public Hearing Information
The Madison Board of Finance will hear public comment this month before the annual budget referendum in April.
MADISON, CT — Madison voters are set to vote in the town's 2026-27 budget referendum on Tuesday, April 28, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to officials.
Details on the proposed budget are available on the Town website, where residents can also find budget materials, workshop schedules, and records from earlier meetings.
The Board of Selectmen's recommended budget for 2026-27, which includes both town and education spending, is $103,890,099, with represents a 3.74 percent increase over the current year's allocation.

Before the referendum, the Board of Finance will hold a Public Hearing at 7 p.m. on March 31 to review the recommended budgets. The meeting will be held at the Town Campus, 8 Campus Drive, in Room C, and on Zoom.
All planning workshops, hearings, and meetings are open to the public, and public participation is welcome. Budget information, upcoming workshops, and any recordings or minutes of previous meetings can be found on the Town website.

On voting day, the temporary polling location for District 1 voting during the 2026 calendar year will be the Senior Center, 29 Bradley Road. District 2 voting will take place at Brown Intermediate School, 980 Durham Road. The town also said absentee ballots will be available by April 6, and that the secured absentee ballot drop box is now open for applications.
