Madison Settles Police Officer's Discrimination Complaint; Details Released

The officer alleged in the complaint she was treated differently during her second pregnancy.

MADISON, CT - The town and Police Officer Patricia Alonso have settled a discrimination complaint out of court.

What it means is that Alonso, who filed the complaint against the town, is no longer a member of the Police Department but she will receive $27,140 in salary through June 30, and she also receives a $42,032 special appropriation by Madison, the Madison Source reports.

In her complaint Alonso claimed she was discriminated against during her second pregnancy in 2012, including being denied desk duty despite a doctor’s note, and she was ordered to hand in her gun and identification, the Source reports.
