Madison's Plastic Bag Initiative Is Now In Effect
Buh-bye plastic bags and good riddance.
MADISON, CT — The purpose is as singular as the cursed single-use bags: to protect Madison's environment and people.
"The purpose of this initiative is to protect the environment in the Town of Madison, including its coastline and marine life, for the benefit and welfare of its residents by encouraging the use of Reusable Checkout Bags, which would entail the phasing out the use of single-use plastic checkout bags and initiating a $0.10 fee for recycled paper checkout bags," the town ordinance reads.
