May 17 Budget Referendum Means Remote Learning In Some Schools
Two polling locations are in school buildings, so learning models at Polson Middle School and Brown Intermediate School will be remote.

MADISON, CT —As the town's annual budget referendum is set for next Tuesday, May 17, and two polling locations in town are school buildings, schools will need to adjust learning models for Polson Middle School and Brown Intermediate School.
Students at both schools will distance learn May 17 with programming for students from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each of these schools will communicate directly with families and students an agenda for the day.
Daniel Hand High School and Ryerson and Jeffrey elementary schools, as well as the Town Campus Learning Center, will have a normal in-person learning day.

"We hope in future to not have to utilize remote learning on referendum days," schools Superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke said in a message to families. "However, due to COVID-19 and parking concerns, remote learning is our best option for now."
