Gwen Hannas Fulfills Internship Requirement
Gwen Hannas of Madison is completing Colby-Sawyer's internship requirement this summer with SWAAY Magazine in New York, N.Y. Hannas is a member of the class of 2018 majoring in English.
Internships are field experiences designed to provide a student learning opportunity under collaborative supervision between Colby-Sawyer College faculty, staff, and work site professionals. Blake C. Egan Graduates from Colby College
Blake C. Egan of Madison, Conn., was one of 482 seniors who graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, May 27, receiving a bachelor of arts degree at the College's 197th Commencement. U.S. Senator Susan Collins was the guest speaker.
Egan, who majored in economics with a concentration in financial markets, attended Daniel Hand High School and is the son of Bradley and Sara Egan of Madison, Conn.

Rachel Alpert of Madison Elected to Phi Beta Kappa
On May 26, Rachel Alpert of Madison was inducted into Wesleyan University's Gamma Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa Society, the oldest national scholastic honor society. The Wesleyan Gamma Chapter was organized in 1845 and is the ninth-oldest chapter in the country. Alpert previously attended Choate Rosemary Hall School.

University of New Hampshire Announces May 2018 Graduates
The following students graduated from the University of New Hampshire in May 2018. Students who received the honor of summa cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.85-4.0; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.65-3.84; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.50-3.64. Students are only graduated after the Registrar's Office has certified that all degree requirements have been successfully completed. Participating in the commencement ceremony is the act of honoring and celebrating academic achievement.

Rachel Muskin of Madison Graduates from St. Lawrence University
Rachel J. Muskin of Madison was one of nearly 520 students who were awarded bachelor degrees from St. Lawrence University during Commencement ceremonies held on May 20 in Canton, New York.
Muskin is a member of the Class of 2018 and majored in psychology. Muskin received the degree of bachelor of science cum laude. Muskin attended Taft School.

Shayla Di Tolla Named to Emory & Henry College's Spring 2018 Dean's List
Shayla Di Tolla of Madison [06443] was named to the Emory & Henry College Spring 2018 Dean's List.

Bridget Kolf of Madison Graduates from The University of Scranton
Bridget C. Kolf of Madison was among more than 890 bachelor's and associate's degrees at its undergraduate commencement on May 27 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre. Very Reverend Timothy P. Kesicki, S.J., president of the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States, read the remarks of the principal speaker Most Reverend George V. Murry, S.J., Bishop of the Diocese of Youngstown, who was unable to attend the ceremony in person because he is undergoing treatment for a form of acute leukemia. Both Father Kesicki and Bishop Murry, in absentia, received honorary degrees from the University. Honorary degrees were also presented to Sister Ann Walsh, I.H.M., former CEO and current assistant director of Friends of the Poor; William Whitaker, founding president of the Washington Jesuit Academy, Washington. D.C.; and Cecelia Lynett Haggerty, Times-Shamrock Communications and former University trustee.
Kolf earned a Bachelor of Science degree in counseling and human services from The University of Scranton.

Judge Earns Spot on Emmanuel College Dean's List for Spring 2018
Jennifer Judge of Madison was recently named to the Emmanuel College Dean's List for the Spring 2018 semester. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Emmanuel students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester

Rachel Stefanowski Named to Dean's List
Rachel Stefanowski, Class of 2021, from Madison, CT was named to the dean's list at Bucknell University during the spring semester of the 2017-18 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition.
