New Haven St. Patrick's Day Parade Is March 11
Kevin A. Smith will serve as the 2012 Grand Marshal

Thousands are expected to hit the Elm City on March 11 for the annual Greater New Haven St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee Executive Board has announced that Kevin A. Smith of Hamden has been selected has the parade's 2012 Grand Marshal.

The parade is set to begin at 1:30 p.m., and according to an article in the New Haven Register, parade chairman Joe Lynch suspects that the parade will attract around 300,000 spectators.
Lynch told The Register that its not just families from Greater New Haven attending, but he knows of some that come across the county to attend the annual parade.

“What I like about the parade is the family aspect," Lynch told The Register. "It brings people together. You meet up with family and friends you might not have seen in the hibernating months."
