No Deed Restrictions for the Former Academy School Site: Report

At one time, officials believed the site was restricted as to what could do there.

MADISON, CT — Town officials received legal counsel that they don't believe there are any restrictions to what the town can do with the former Academy School building.

At one point, it was believed that the deed of Daniel Hand required that the property remain as an educational center, but upon review officials say that is no longer the case, the Madison Source reports.

Selectwoman Joan Walker told the Source she hopes the property is used to boost economic development and to help local businesses in town.
