Obituary: Arthur P. Feskanin, 93, of Madison

He purchased the Madison Coffee Shop where he remained for over 20 years.

Arthur P. Feskanin, 93, of Clinton and Madison, beloved husband of 70 years to Valerie W. Feskanin died Monday, April 18, 2016 at Gladeview Rehab Center in Old Saybrook.

Born November 25, 1922 in Terryville, he was the son of the late Peter and Anna (Prislopsky) Feskanin.

He proudly served his country in WWII in the United States Navy where he was a signalman. After getting discharged from the Navy, Arthur worked at the Eagle Lock Company in Terryville and also E. Ingraham Watch Company, before moving to Old Saybrook in 1956.

He then purchased the Madison Coffee Shop where he remained for over 20 years. After selling the coffee shop, he bought the Hob Nob Restaurant in Madison and managed that for a brief time until his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church and also a member of the Exchange Club of Madison and the American Legion Post 79 for over 40 years. He will be remembered for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife Valerie of Clinton, daughter Valerie Collins and husband John of Madison, one grandson, Bryan Collins of Newington, his sister Mary L'Heureux of Litchfield, nephews Arthur and Damian L' Heureux of Litchfield, Rod Wilson and his wife Joan of Old Saybrook and one niece, Melissa Henson of Cromwell. He was predeceased by his sister, Ann Krinitski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret’s RC Church, 29 Academy St, Madison, on Friday. April 22 at 10:30am. Burial with Military Honors will follow immediately in West Cem, Route 1, Madison. There will be NO CALLING HOURS.
