Obituary: Carol A. Lyons, 74, of Madison

Wednesday, July 27 2016 Carol A. Lyons of Clinton, formerly longtime resident of Madison passed away peacefully.

Beloved wife of Allen Lyons. Carol was born Oct. 19, 1940 daughter of the late Ira and Robia Belmore. Mother of Mark, Matthew, Luke and Sean. Also survived by fourteen grandchildren.

Carol loved hiking, mountain climbing, kayaking and tanning in the driveway in the winter and at age 70 she summited Mt. Katahdin, and still had a great pair of legs. She was deeply involved with her church and prison ministry, operated two halfway houses and loved by many.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret RC Church, 29 Academy St, Madison, on Wed, Aug. 3 at 10 am. Friends may call Tues, Aug. 2 from 5 – 8 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Burial will be held in West Cemetery, Route 1, Madison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Legionaries of Christ, 415 Oak St, Cheshire, CT 06410.
