Obituary: Christine Poutot, 70, of Madison

Christine was a member of the Madison Planning & Zoning Commission for over 25 years.

Monday, February 29, 2016 Christine Poutot longtime resident of Madison passed away unexpectedly at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of John F. Poutot. Christine was born in Jackson Heights, NY daughter of the late Anthony and Marion Urgolites Rubino. Mother of Simone Ketchum and her husband Shawn of Guilford.

Sister of Robert Rubino, Sr. of Tucson, AZ. Also survived by her three grandchildren, Taylor, Cayden and Brooklyn; along with a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Christine was a member of the Madison Planning & Zoning Commission for over 25 years and received a lifetime achievement award for her contribution.

She also worked with her husband at their company Nova Transportation, Inc. and enjoyed being involved with the Property Owners Assoc, and The Goodspeed Opera House as a Guild member and past president.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George Catholic Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford, on Saturday, March 5, at 11 AM. Friends may call prior to Mass on Saturday morning from 8:30 – 10:30 am at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.

Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, Tribute gifts in Christine's name can be directed to Smilow Cancer Hospital Pharmacy Fund for Medication Assistance for Smilow patients. Checks made to Yale-New Haven Hospital and mailed to Yale-New Haven Hospital; Office of Development; P. O. Box 1849: New Haven, CT 06508.
