Obituary: Dr. Joseph "Buzz" Wierzbinski, 84, of Madison
. Dr. Wierzbinski enjoyed hiking and many days on the Madison Beach.

Dr. Joseph "Buzz" Wierzbinski, 84, beloved husband of Jeannine Wierzbinski, passed away peacefully at Evergreen Woods in North Branford, CT on September 1, 2017. He was a long time resident of Madison, CTDr. Wierzbinski obtained his B.A. degree from Yale University and his M.D. degree from Yale Medical School, followed by a residency at the former Boston City Hospital. He was in private practice in Norwich, CT.Dr. Wierzbinski honorably served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Medical Service 43rd M*A*S*H* unit in South Korea during the Vietnam War .
Buzz was also an assistant surgical consultant to the Surgeon General in Washington D.C. He also proudly served in the Connecticut Army National Guard where he achieved the rank of Brigadier General. Dr. Wierzbinski enjoyed hiking and many days on the Madison Beach. Buzz was a member of the "Madison Winter Club". He and his wife Jeannine experienced numerous adventures during their world travels.Dr. Wierzbinski is survived by his wife Jeannine Lundin Wierzbinski, cousins Marilyn and Giles O'Keeffe, Jennifer O'Keeffe and several nieces and nephews.Interment will be private.
