On Thursday, August 11, 2016, Monsignor John F. Hartmann of Madison passed away peacefully. Son of the late Joseph and Anna (Derenthal) Hartmann.
He is survived by his brothers Alfred A. Hartmann (Darlene) of Texas, Robert J. Hartmann (Eleanor) of Guilford and Gerard J. Hartmann (Patricia) of Virginia.

He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Herman Hartmann and sisters, Sr. Marie Labre, CSJ, Sr. Roberta Gerard, CSJ, and Dorothy Weir.

At the Mater Christie High School in Queens he was the Spiritual Director, along with a position as both Pastor and Pastor Emeritus of Sacred Heart in Glendale.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret’s R.C. Church, 29 Academy St. Madison on Wednesday, August 17 at 10am. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beach Park Rd, Clinton. Friends may pay their respects Tuesday Aug. 16 from 4 to 8 pm at St. Margaret’s R.C. Church, Madison.
