Obituary: Naida Elliott Johnson, 88, of Madison
Naida enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family as well as gardening in her yard.

Naida Elliott Johnson, age 88, longtime resident of Madison, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Middlesex Hospice, Middletown, CT on February 18, 2016. She was the beloved wife of 65 years of Elmer “Johnny” Johnson.
She was born in Holyoke, MA on May 5, 1927, daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Louise Coderre Elliott. In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter Sandy Haslam and her husband Cliff of Madison and her son Rick Johnson and his wife Kristen of Monroe.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Christopher Elliott Johnson, Kelsey Johnson, and James Coderre Johnson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Benjamin Elliott and two sisters, Louise O’Bringer and Bessie Adams. She worked many years in the local community and retired from Beckson Industrial Products.
Naida enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family as well as gardening in her yard. She looked forward to vacationing during the winter in Florida.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 5 – 8pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26 at 11 am at the Guilford Funeral Home, Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Jannas Ln, Madison. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Naida’s memory to The Kennedy Center, a private agency that provides programs and services for people with disabilities, 2440 Reservoir Avenue, Trumbull, CT 06611 (www.thekennedycenterinc.org) Attn: Development Department.
