Obituary: Robert Joseph Manning " Speed," 81, of Madison

Robert Joseph Manning " Speed", 81, of Madison CT passed away at CT Hospice in Branford, CT on Saturday June 25th.

He was born August 15, 1934 in New Haven CT the son of Thomas and Florence Manning. He was pre deceased by his wife Maureen Fogerty Manning and is survived by Megan Manning Winkler and her husband Matt, Thomas Manning, John Manning and his wife Evelyn and grandchildren Nora and Maeve Winkler.

Robert was a graduate of Notre Dame HS and UCONN with BA in History.
He served in the Army overseas during the Korean War. He was an avid sports fan who loved college football, UCONN basketball and football, the Red Sox and the New England Patriots, along with tail gating at the Yale Bowl.

Robert loved spending time at West Wharf beach with family and friends and all the family vacations at Missquamicut, RI. Calling hours will be Thurs 6/30 from 4-7 pm at Swan FH, 825 Boston Post Rd Madison. Funeral Mass at St Margaret Church in Madison Fri 7/1 at 10 am.
