Obituary: ​Valerie Feskanin, 92, of Madison

After marrying her husband, Art, they bought the Madison Coffee Shop and enjoyed many years in the restaurant business.

Valerie Feskanin, 92, loving wife of 70 years to the late Arthur Feskanin died peacefully at Middlesex hospice on Thursday, January 11, 2018 after a short illness. She was born on February 14, 1925 to the late Joseph and Agnes Wilson.

Val was born and raised in Bristol and spent her early career as an office assistant in General Motors. After marrying her husband, Art, they bought the Madison Coffee Shop and enjoyed many years in the restaurant business.

After retiring, Val also enjoyed working part time at Leete's Circle Pharmacy in Madison assisting in the post office and ordering and setting up the Hallmark cards. Val loved going to Sarasota, Florida with her husband in the winter.

She enjoyed pro-basketball, especially the Knicks and Celtics. She also was a big UConn fan. She loved socializing with family and friends. After moving to Clinton, her extended family at Silverbrook meant the world to her. Valerie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Val and Jack Collins of Madison, one grandson, Bryan Collins of Newington, a niece, Melissa Henson of Cromwell, two nephews, Rodney Wilson and his wife Joan of Old Saybrook, and Arthur L'Heureux of Litchfield, as well as a sister-in-law Mary L'Heureux, also of Litchfield.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur, brother Roy Wilson, and nephew Damian L'Heureux. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 19 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church, 24 Academy St, Madison. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Madison.
