MADISON, CT — In early October, voters will decide by referendum for the Board of Education facility renewal, and the Academy School community center project, the Board of Selectmen approved Tuesday, albeit in a party line vote, it was reported, and shared widely on social media.

Madison Democrats said on Facebook that an October vote gives the community time to learn more about the plan, cost and “effect on taxes.”

Some residents, including a Republican Selectman, suggested the vote for a referendum date was a late addition to the agenda.
