Oscar Night at the Kate is a Dazzling Affair on March 10

Proceeds support the Katharine Hepburn Museum and education programs.

Press release

OLD SAYBROOK, CT - The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (the Kate) transforms into a glittering, Hollywood-esque venue for its Oscar Night Party on Sunday, March 10 beginning at 6 pm at the center located at 300 Main Street, Old Saybrook. This annual red-carpet fund raising event honors the Kate’s 12-time Oscar nominated, 4-time-winning namesake and makes for an entertaining evening. Proceeds support the Katharine Hepburn Museum and education programs.

“We always look forward to this event to celebrate Katharine Hepburn’s accolades,” said Brett Elliott, executive director. “This year is extra special as we welcome Ann Nyberg and Illeana Douglas as honorary co-chairs. They are both big film fans and authors – Ann’s book about Kate and Illeana’s book about Connecticut movies will be available at our gift shop that evening.”

Elliott and State Representative Devin Carney, a Kate trustee and grandson of Academy Award winning actor Art Carney, will emcee the evening. Delicious hearty hors d’oeuvres and desserts provided by the award-winning Fresh Salt of Saybrook Point Resort & Marina are served as the 96th Academy Awards ceremony airs live in surround sound on the Kate’s big screen. Guests will walk the red carpet and pose for photos and can also bid in the silent auction.

The Oscar Night Party is hosted by the Kate’s Volunteer Guild and is presented by Jaguar North Haven and Land Rover North Haven. The event is sponsored by H&R Block of Old Saybrook, Comcast, FromYouFlowers.com, WMNR Fine Arts Radio, Stratton Partners Advertising, Grey Ledge Advisors, Patricia Lynn Toner, and Saybrook Point Resort & Marina.
