Popular Seafood Spot To Return To Madison
The owners plan to serve up a big sandwich when it reopens this spring.
MADISON, CT — Donahue's Clam Castle, the popular seafood restaurant at 1324 Boston Post Road in Madison, is returning this spring, the owners announced over the weekend on Facebook.
"The wait is almost over!" Chris, Patrick and Dave Donahue wrote. "Donahue’s Clam Castle is coming back this spring, bringing back the original charm, legendary flavors, and proud New England tradition."
Over the past couple of years, the spot was The Clam Castle featuring Taco Pacifico, after Donahue's was sold in 2023. Before that, Donahue’s Clam Castle reigned from 2014 to 2023.

"Introducing the WORLD’S BIGGEST HOT LOBSTER ROLL," they wrote. "A jaw-dropping 24-inch lobster roll, inspired by the authentic taste of Maine and crafted to be the biggest and boldest lobster roll you’ll find anywhere — including right here in Connecticut."
As for Taco Pacifico, which had added Mexican cuisine to the New England seafood menu, the previous owner, Greg Sharon, did not offer specifics, but hinted at a move south.
"Very happy to announce the sale of Clam Castle (back) to Donahues!" Sharon wrote. "After 16 years, Taco Pacifico has finally thrown in the towel, or dish rag in this case. It’s been nothing short of a wild ride & I’ve enjoyed serving all of you so much. Thank you for your loyalty & patronage - it’s what has kept me going this long. Southern California - the inspiration behind Taco Pacifico - is calling me back. No idea what this next chapter of life has in store, but I’m very excited knowing it will entail warm winters…AND LOTSA GREAT MEXICAN FOOD!"
The Donahues are excited for their return.
"We can’t wait to welcome you back and serve you again," they wrote. "Donahue’s Clam Castle — tradition, taste, and history on every plate."
