'Postcards from the Shore 1900-1950' : An Illustrated History

Learn how Madison grew from a primarily agrarian small New England village to a summer colony and vacation destination. The story is illustrated with over 100 color postcard images, old photographs, vintage advertising and historic anecdotes as presented by Robert C. Gerard from the Charlotte L. Evarts Memorial Archives. Reasons such as the construction of the Railroad, Trolley, and invention of the automobile changed Madison forever. This presentation at the Scranton Memorial Library ties into the latest book published by the Archives entitled “Postcards of Yesteryear, an illustrated collection of postcards from Madison, Connecticut.”
