Project Limulus: A Presentation on Horseshoe Crab Monitoring

Join us at the Scranton Memorial Library for a presentation about horseshoe crab monitoring in Long Island Sound.

Jo-Marie Kasinak of Sacred Heart University presents Project Limulus: Horseshoe Crab Monitoring in Long Island Sound at the Scranton Memorial Library on Thursday, June 2nd at 7:ooPM.

Horseshoe crabs are natural wonders that have remained essentially unchanged for 450 million years (that’s 200 million years before dinosaurs). These “living fossils” have surprising connections to Long Island Sound ecology and to basic human healthcare: if you’ve been vaccinated in the past 40 years, you have the horseshoe crab to thank!

Join us and discover the fascinating world of horseshoe crabs. Attendees will also learn how to become involved with Project Limulus, a community-based research program that empowers all citizens to be involved in scientific research.
