First Selectwoman encourages people to "commemorate this tragedy through greater volunteerism during the Days of Caring," Sept. 11-18.

MADISON, CT — There will be a public, in-person ceremony Friday at Memorial Town Hall to mark the 19th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on our nation, First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons announced Wednesday.

She said that the town, in coordination with civic organizations, will be honoring those individuals lost on 9/11 with a socially-distanced public ceremony Friday at 6 p.m. in light of the coronavirus public health emergency.

"During this state of emergency, the tragedy of 9/11 is of even greater significance for those interested in public service," Lyons said.
