Quality of Madison's Ballfields Criticized

Parents and coaches often have to take care of the ballfields themselves.

Some Madison little league officials and parents associated with various youth sports are expressing concerns over the quality of ball fields in town.

The youth sports leaders and parents stress that the fields are currently safe for children to play on but they are worried that they could quickly fall into disrepair and be unsafe, reports Akaya McElveen, of the New Haven Register.

Parents have to arrive early or stay late to rake the fields and pump the fields free of water themselves because Madison doesn’t have someone dedicated for that work 100 percent of the time, the Register reports.
