Report: Kennedy's Former Firm Investigated by SEC

State senate candidate Ted Kennedy Jr. was the president of the firm for 12 years.

The Wall Street Journal reports that an advisory firm, Marwood Group, which is a health care advisory and financial services firm once led by state senate candidate Ted Kennedy Jr. is being investigated for potential inside information being provided to the firm by Medicare officials, reports Kristin Stoller of the New Haven Register.

The Securities and Exchange Commission is looking into the company that Kennedy led for 12 years.

At issue is whether anyone tipped off the firm about a review of a new prostate cancer treatment as prices concerning the drug dropped significantly, the Register reports.

Kennedy left the firm in 2013 and the investigation is almost three years old and no charges have been filed, the Register reports.

Kennedy is running for the 12 senatorial district seat, which includes Branford, Guilford and Madison.
