Salt Meadow Farm Housing Development On Madison Economic Development Commission Agenda

Madison's Economic Development Commission is scheduled this week to discuss several town properties.

MADISON, CT — A proposed housing development at Salt Meadow Farm is among the items scheduled for discussion when the Madison Economic Development Commission meets Thursday.

Paul Cody is scheduled to give a presentation on the Salt Meadow Farm housing development, according to the commission’s agenda.

The commission is also scheduled to receive updates on several properties and town planning matters, including the former Roberts Supermarket, Academy School and Water Authority land next to the Rockland preserve.

Members may also review and discuss a Facilities Committee report to the Board of Selectmen and follow up on a previous discussion with Carol Snow, chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Other old business includes an update on the Surf Club Master Plan and continued work on establishing a business retention plan. Tom Hummel is listed in connection with the retention plan, which includes coordination with the Chamber of Commerce.

The commission is also scheduled to discuss communications with the Board of Finance, town planner and selectmen. Additional agenda items include a tourism website, wayfinding signage and an update from the Chamber of Commerce.

The regular meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Town Campus, Conference Room A. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, with remote participation available via Zoom.
