Saturday On The Green: Madison's First Ever PrideFest

MADISON, CT — The first-ever Madison PrideFest kicks off Saturday on the Town Green and church lawn.

Organized by the Madison Diversity & Inclusion Committee and the First Congregational Church, Madison Chamber of Commerce, and E.C Scranton Library, the inaugural —and socially distant —celebration will include live music, speeches, family-friendly activities, vendor booths from LGBTQIA+ organizations and businesses, and PrideFest swag to buy. The festival runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The PrideFest is supported and sponsored by a number of local businesses.

"As we prepare for Saturday's event, a special shoutout to all of our tremendous sponsors," the committee posted on its Facebook page.

The "Rainbow Sponsors" are Moxie, Genie Maids, UNAPEN, Forever Homes, and Bob Donahue & Michael D'Agostino. Gold Sponsors are College Matters, Madison Coffee House, Rodriguez Immigration Law Firm, LLC, Shoreline Psychological, Rise Therapy and Wellness, RT Strong - A Strength Community, and Davis Realty.

First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons took to Facebook to say she'll be there.

"I look forward to attending this event next weekend, the first for Madison and the shoreline," she wrote.

Masks are required at the event and for those in need, extra masks will be on hand, organizers said.
