MADISON, CT —Partnering with Griffin Health, Madison schools are holding two pediatric student COVID-19 vaccine clinics — Friday and next Friday Nov. 19.

Schools Superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke noted that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have authorized use of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5 to 11, and that Griffin Health asked the district to hold a clinic due to the lack of planned clinics in Madison.

The Friday clinic is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Town Campus Gym, 6 Campus Drive. The second shot will be done Friday Dec. 3 at the Senior Center (29 Bradley Road) in Madison from 2-6 p.m.

No appointment is necessary, but parents are asked to complete and bring the pre-screening form for their student.(It's noted that the form is not specific to the 5 to 11 age group, so some fields may not apply.)

Parents and guardians should be aware that these clinics are first come, first served while shots are available.

And, Cooke noted, folks should, "Keep in mind that the people administering the vaccinations may not move as quickly from patient to patient as they would at adult clinics. We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation."
