MADISON, CT — Celebrate National Memoir Writing Month with E. C. Scranton Memorial Library.

Orlene Gallops, who wove together the story of her family’s Jewish heritage into an incredible memoir titled “Hiding In Plain Sight,” will lead this creative workshop at the library. She will discuss researching and writing your account, creating a descriptive narrative of your story, and turning the vision of what your memoir would look like into a reality. She will also offer editing advice and share her experience in the publishing world.

The event at the Scranton Memorial Library is set for Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m.

Also at the Scranton, on Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m., a hybrid event: Two-Eyed Seeing For Our Modern World

“Two-Eyed Seeing” is a concept that describes learning how to see the strengths of Indigenous knowledge through one eye and the strengths of Western knowledge through the other. Join Native American Storyteller Darlene Kascak for an interactive discussion about food, sustainability, and how people can incorporate both Native and Western wisdom into their daily lives. Patrons have the option of attending virtually or in person.
