Sentence Handed Down In DUI Crash That Killed Madison Man: Report

Mark Palumbo Jr., 47, was killed in the October 2024 crash when a wrong-way driver struck Palumbo's vehicle head-on on I-95 in Westbrook.

MADISON, CT — Groton resident Troy Bree, 58, was sentenced this week to five years in prison in connection with the October 2024 wrong-way crash that killed 47-year-old Madison resident Mark Palumbo Jr., the Shoreline Times reported.

Bree's full sentence was 10 years in prison, suspended after five years served, and five years of probation after his release.

He reportedly pleaded guilty last fall to second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle and related charges.

Mark Palumbo Sr., Mark Jr.'s father, reportedly told the publication that the family was upset by the prison sentence, because they think it is too short.
