'Serious Motor Vehicle Accident' Shut Down Portion Of I-95 In Madison: Police
The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon.
MADISON, CT — A "serious motor vehicle accident" temporarily closed I-95 southbound in the area of Exit 60 in Madison Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
"The highway is currently shut down, and traffic is being diverted off Exit 61," Madison police wrote on Facebook.
According to Connecticut State Police, the crash involved a motorcycle and another vehicle, and serious injuries were reported.

The crash was reported at about 1:45 p.m., and the Connecticut Department of Transportation said the thruway was expected to reopen by about 5:45 p.m. or before.
During the closure, motorists were told to expect significant delays, which could back up into Madison.
