'Serious Motor Vehicle Accident' Shuts Down Portion Of I-95 In Madison: Police

The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon.

MADISON, CT — A "serious motor vehicle accident" has temporarily closed I-95 southbound in the area of Exit 60 in Madison Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

"The highway is currently shut down, and traffic is being diverted off Exit 61," Madison police wrote on Facebook.

According to Connecticut State Police, the crash involved a motorcycle and serious injuries were reported.

Police warn that motorists should expect significant delays, "including traffic backing up into" Madison.
