Significant Power Outages Reported in Madison, Clinton and Killingworth: BREAKING

UPDATE: Good news, as of 6:15 p.m. there are now less than 500 outages for the entire state with 341 in Stamford now.

As of 5:45 p.m. Eversource is reporting 4,111 outages in Connecticut including 1,601 in Clinton, 1,135 in Madison, 572 in Killingworth, and 216 in Guilford.

At one point, there were more than 12,000 outages including more than 4,000 each in Madison and Clinton, NBC Connecticut reports.

An Eversource spokesperson told NBC CT that the outage was a result of damage possibly from a squirrel at a Madison substation.
