Six Vista Students to Graduate in July Ceremony

Ceremony celebrates the success and independence students achieved in Vista's transitional program.

Vista Life Innovations, a nationally accredited post-secondary program that supports the personal success of individuals with disabilities, will celebrate the graduation of six students in a July 21 ceremony at The Kate in Old Saybrook.

Delivering this year’s commencement address will be writer, producer and teacher Jocelyn Ruggiero, who has worked with Vista students and members as an arts instructor since 2014. Among her various career highlights, Ruggiero’s written work has appeared in The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, Food and Wine, Parade Magazine, Saveur and Yankee Magazine.

Graduation is a significant milestone in the lives of Vista students that acknowledges the independence and success they worked hard to achieve while in Vista’s on-campus transitional program.

The majority of Vista graduates go on to become independent and engaged members of the shoreline community, living in their own homes, apartments or condos while receiving individualized services or supports from Vista.

The 2017 Graduation Ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. on July 21 at The Kate, 300 Main Street, Old Saybrook. A reception will be held on site immediately after the ceremony.
