Sizable Donation Made to Help Fund Madison Library Renovation Project
It's still expected the library renovation project will be decided at a referendum this fall.

MADISON, CT - Proponents of the proposed E.C. Scranton Memorial Library renovation/expansion project have 500,000 more reasons to be excited now.
An anonymous donor has donated $500,000 toward the project, which in totality could cost $14 million, the Madison Source reports.
It’s likely a referendum will be held in the fall and residents will be asked to bond up to $10 million for the project, which will more than double the current square footage from 17,000 to 38,000, the Source reports.

About $1 million is available through a state grant, and like the $500,000 anonymous donation, it’s contingent on the referendum passing. Library officials also have another $800,000 available. Library officials also plan to fundraise for additional funds too.
