Snow Impacts Daniel Hand's Championship Football Game

BREAKING: The expected weekend snowstorm has led to a scheduling change.

The snowstorm that is expected to hit the state on Saturday has altered the scheduling of the four high school state football championship games.

Madison’s Daniel Hand High School Class L championship game against Masuk has been rescheduled until 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 11th at Trumbull High School.

The Class S championship game between Ansonia and St. Joseph has also been rescheduled to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 11th at Cheshire High School.

The Class M championship game between Killingly and Joel Barlow has been rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 11th at Veterans Stadium in New Britain.

The Class LL championship game between Greenwich and Darien will still be played on Saturday, December 9th, but the start time has been moved up to one hour – 10 a.m. at Boyle Stadium in Stamford.

The CIAC said it determined the updated schedule while considering appropriate and available sites, weather forecasts, and requests from school districts indicated they were uncomfortable competing and traveling on Saturday given the weather forecast.
