Starlight Gardens To Host On-Farm Workshop About Greenhouse, High-Tunnel Growing

The workshop will be led by David Zemelsky at his organic farm,Starlight Gardens at 54 Fowler Avenue in Durham, CT on March 20 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Mr. Zemelsky will lead a tour of his greenhouses and high tunnels while instructing workshop participants in his methods of season extension. Mr. Zemelsky is a certified organic grower of a variety of greens for farmers’ markets and wholesale.
John W. Bartok, Jr.,a Uconn Extension Professor Emeritus and Agricultural Engineer will also be at the workshop to address greenhouse design and to talk about ways to improve greenhouse efficiency and function.

Following the workshop, we are planning a Beginning Farmer lunch. Farmers with less than ten years of experience are welcome to join us to talk more with Mr. Zemelsky and with fellow beginning farmers.
