Chef Love is a motivated culinarian with two decades of diverse hospitality experience.

Madison Beach Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning boutique resort and Top Performer for the Hilton brand, today announced that Stephen Love is named Chef De Cuisine.
Chef Love is a motivated culinarian with two decades of diverse hospitality experience. Most recently, Love served as Chef De Cuisine for Amarone Restaurant, a fine dining Italian restaurant on the Connecticut shoreline, where he was responsible for menu development and execution.
Prior to that, Chef Love was Sous Chef at The Standard Hotel High Line in New York City, 350-room Manhattan hotel in the Meat Packing District with three high-volume dining venues and room service. There he developed new recipes and oversaw training of a staff of sixty.

He was Executive Chef at Sodexo at Plymouth Village in Redlands, CA; Executive Sous Chef for Sodexo at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA; and Sous Chef at Wine Cask, also in Santa Barbara.

Chef Stephen Love’s culinary enthusiasm was cultivated at a young age where he grew up in New Hampshire on Lake Winnipesaukee. His greatest influences were his parents, Chefs Michael and Donna Love. His father was chef-owner, and his mother was a pastry chef who also worked as a hostess at local lakeside eateries.
Some of Chef Love’s earliest memories took place in restaurants, often sitting atop a milk crate picking twenty pounds of green beans.
“That was the daycare for me in the restaurant,” said Chef Love. “It's in my blood and, since then, I've worked my way up.”
When Love left home at age eighteen, he traveled to California. Working in restaurants and high-end establishments, he became an apprentice for and collaborator with many renowned culinarians including Chef Jeremy Tummel, Chef Scout Oullette, and Chef Greg Murphy.
Chef Love specializes in classic French methods and techniques, using seasonal ingredients while incorporating global culinary fusion. With an overarching Mediterranean base, he enjoys designing unique blends between French and other cultures, like Japanese, Chinese, Italian, or even Tex-Mex. Integrating this Mediterranean influence, he often works with seafood using fresh herbs and finding innovative ways to enhance flavor.
“My favorite dish to create has got to be risotto,” said Chef Love. “It takes so much care and attention. To make it perfect, you have to literally guide the cooking process for twenty-five minutes. You need to really understand how the rice kernel changes.”
“For Madison Beach Hotel, Chef Love is elevating the culinary experience for dining guests as well as his fellow team members – in both front- and back-of-house,” said General Manager John Mathers. “From the popular Epicurean Event Series to daily dining, Chef love delivers consistency, creativity, varied shoreline fare, and upper echelon dishes.”
He resides in Guilford, Conn.
