The Nifty Fifties Band to perform at the Surf Club

Madison Beach and Recreation is proud to announce the kick off of our summer concert series. The Nifty Fifties band will be performing on the deck of the surf club on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm. Look out world, THE NIFTY FIFTIES are back, with a cool retro style and a hot new spin on the greatest hits of rock and roll. Like a turbocharged time machine, this five piece group will transport you back to the manic magic of the golden age of rock and roll, combining their highly charged dance hits of the 50's and 60's and beyond with a uniquely entertaining blend of stage presence, humor and good old fashioned showmanship. They have opened for such legendary rock and roll pioneers as THE DRIFTERS, JONNY MAESTRO, JOEY DEE AND THE STARLIGHTERS, THE SHIRELLES AND THE MAMMA AND THE PAPPAS. Enjoy songs such as Rock Around the Clock, Shout, The Twist, Hand Jive and Barbara Ann.  Remember, beach passes are not required after 6 pm at the Surf Club so come and enjoy. Bring a beach chair to sit in as well.
