Assessment Tech II


Position Title: Assessment Tech II – Assessor’s Office
Hours of Work: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Salary Range: Grade 6 - $19.62 to $27.59 per hour
Non-union, hourly – 40 hours per week

The Town of Madison is accepting applications for the position of Assessment Tech II. This position is located in the Assessor’s Office of the Town. Completed applications must be received in the Human Resources Department no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016

Minimum Training and Experience Required To Perform Essential Job Functions: An Associate’s Degree in business, financial management or closely related field and three (3) years of related experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Appraisal experience highly desirable. Ability to obtain certification of CCMA I is required within two (2) years from date of hire. Valid Connecticut Driver’s License is required and the ability to successfully complete a background examination. Working knowledge of Vision Government Solutions and Quality Data systems highly desirable. Work is performed in accordance with State Statutes.

Position Purpose: To perform administrative and technical and field work to assist the Assessor in the valuation of real and personal property and motor vehicles; perform increasingly responsible field investigations and inspections in evaluating property; and collect and process information to assist in the establishment of the Town’s Grand List. Maintains data in the Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal program; prepares and processes business personal property declarations; provides technical assistance to visitors and the public; reviews and processes the State and Local Tax Relief applications for the elderly and totally disabled and additional veterans; provides technical support of the Board of Assessment Appeals; assists with general office functions of the department.
